Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Programming in the Faculty of Education at Brock University
Margo Horne is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse range of experiences in the field of education. She is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Programming at Brock University and currently a Trustee and former Chair of the Board at the Halton District School Board. Her teaching career began as a classroom teacher in both mainstream and self-contained settings. She has held various teaching and leadership positions in educational institutions in Canada, the UK, and Japan, including roles as a consultant, lecturer, vice principal, and head of primary department. Her research endeavours include projects in Canada, the United States, the UK and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. These projects focus on educational and community inclusion, empowering both students and teachers to engage in opportunities for positive change.
Key interests/focus of work:
Inclusive Education- looking at how we include students in classrooms and beyond using physical, academic and social opportunities.
Assessment- looking at how to create meaningful, authentic assessment strategies to support all learners
Differentiated Instruction- How can/do teachers use DI for creating inclusive classrooms?
